Major established and brand name company has an opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer at their large manufacturing site in the southwest suburbs of the Atlanta metro to support the development of electrical systems, parts, and software related to the vehicles developed by the company in Product Development. Development encompasses new design development, 3D/2D CAD creation/ submittal, validation support and countermeasure, cost reduction, ease of manufacturing and other tasks needed for the support of development. There is 5% bonus potential, 2% profit sharing and relocation assistance associated with this opportunity.
Create 3D and 2D CAD data related to electrical components/systems as dictated by project targets, project manager, and PD management.
Manage development of electrical components/systems/software designed and developed by companies contracted by the company PD to adhere to project targets and company quality standards.
Create / manage BOM structures related to electrical components/systems as dictated by project specifications.
Order prototype samples related to electrical components/systems as required by project manager and PD management.
Problem solving of the proto design/samples if they didn’t work as intended.
Communicate with cross-functional members to ensure the parts/systems meet their expectations.
Communicate with vendors & suppliers for production/prototype part issues/concerns
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Will consider entry level for candidate with a BSEE degree.
Other Required Skills:
Broad skill to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Good written and verbal communication ability.
Broad skill to operate 3D solid CAD system.
Broad skill to operate electrical diagnostic equipment.
Basic knowledge related to electrical harness creation / modification
Basic knowledge of PCB Design, Testing and Troubleshooting.
Basic understanding related to the principles, structures, functions and features of electromagnetic waves, sensors, image processing and radio waves.
Basic understanding of design control system and logic based on the principle.
Basic knowledge how to verify test items of control system and logic based on the principle.
