Job Description:

This role will be based at a small (60-80 employees) but very new facility located in the Baton Rouge area. This plant was started-up about 6 years ago and has been well-maintained. They have a need for an E&I engineer who will do about 70% instrumentation work, 25% controls work and 5% power distribution work. This is a situation where they can either take someone who is 1-2 years out of school and train them, or they can take a person with more experience and give them a role where they are doing a variety of different things and who will have ownership over specific areas of the plant. Currently, this plant is running at 100% capacity and they are in the middle of a plant expansion project as well. This particular role does not have any direct reports but will be leading 3 I&E technicians in training and work assignments. Minimal travel with this role, 40-50 hour work weeks and a close-knit group of people at the plant.

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. Engineering ideal (EE, ChE, ME), will consider someone without a degree who has 4+ years of I&E experience in a chemical plant
  • Order of preference, in terms of background, is instrumentation experience, then controls experience, then power distribution experience; this facility runs a Yokogawa controls system but they have a dedicated programmer on-site, so the controls work will be more related to maintenance of instrumentation, not programming

Compensation: industry and geographically competitive base pay (~$100K for entry level, up to $140K for more experienced engineer), 9% 401K match, 9/80 schedule, medical/dental/vision benefits
