Director of Business Development – CDMO Biotech — REMOTE

Rapidly growing Australian contract manufacturing company producing microbial and plasmid products seeks a Director of Business Development to lead US Sales.  Candidates can live anywhere in the US with twice yearly travel to South Australia for meetings.

The Director of Business Development will help drive the sales and marketing effort and position this company as the CDMO of choice for microbial and plasmid development and manufacturing.

Requirements for Director of Business Development:

 

• MSc or Phd in biology

• An understanding of basic cell expression and fermentation

• 10+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry including a solid working knowledge of microbial and plasmid development, processing and manufacturing, with at least 8 years experience in sales or account management.

• Recent experience in a biologics contract development and manufacturing organization

• Proven success in development, management, and execution of sales pipelines 

• Ability to identify, vet, and close sales opportunities

• Working knowledge of Salesforce

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities

• A willingness to work flexibly in different time zones
