Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC and Plumbing Design Engineer for our Orange County office. The ideal candidate will have a stable work history and proven expertise in the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for large-scale commercial projects. This includes, but is not limited to, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, airports, and high-rise buildings. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, and Bluebeam is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement HVAC and plumbing systems for various commercial projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure the seamless integration of HVAC and plumbing designs.
- Create and revise technical drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit).
- Use modeling software (Trane Trace, Carrier HAP) for energy analysis and system optimization.
- Review and interpret project specifications, proposals, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
- Perform load and system calculations to verify design integrity.
- Utilize Bluebeam for document management and collaboration.
- Ensure designs comply with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and expectations.
- Manage project deadlines and deliverables, ensuring all design work is completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field required.
- EIT certification or PE license in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Proven experience in HVAC and Plumbing design for commercial projects, particularly hospitals, schools, airports, and high rises.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, and Bluebeam.
- Comprehensive understanding of local building codes and regulations.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be based in Orange County, CA.
- Stable work history demonstrating reliability and dedication.
