Global company producing ready-to-eat baby food for infants from 4 months to 3 years. New plant, state-of-the art equipment supplying customers with a wide range of solid, organic baby food products; pouch fruits, stews, vegetable purees and baby meals. 5 lines, 3-shift, 7-day plant employing 125.
Responsible for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying production activities. Construct and monitor those data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing and variance information to management. Run the cost accounting process in the ERP including updating standard costs in the bill of materials. Review standard and actual costs for the required detailed analysis. Prepare daily and weekly reports to the manufacturing operations manager on raw materials, packaging scrap, labor variances, output, and line efficiencies. Assist in budget forecast preparation and fixed cost analysis. Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by G.A.A.P. Report on monthly variances at month end and their causes, focusing on spending variances. Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances. Analyze data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage / waste. Determine cost price calculations for sales. Coordination of physical inventory counts and cycle counts. Coordinate and Investigate cycle counting variances to resolve issues. Reports to the Finance Director.
BS in accounting, finance, or related field.
2+ years of Cost Accounting work experience in a manufacturing environment.
ERP system experience.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner.
Understanding of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates.
Understanding of organizational accounting concepts.
