Nationwide General Contractor that specializes in the food and beverage industry with in-house planning, design, and engineering services.

 

Specialists in food facilities.  Focus on operational efficiency.  Material handling studies to properly size and configure processing and storage areas.  Site search, evaluation, and selection services. Fluency in food safety best practices.  Fluency in food process engineering and utility infrastructure.  In-house architecture, engineering, and construction.  Understanding of process flow, adjacencies, and material balance.  Value engineering.  Open book pricing.  A history of delivering high 6 figure utility company rebates.  A history of delivering projects ahead of schedule and under budget.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Primary client contact through the entire project delivery process, from design concept through bidding, construction, and start-up.  Ensure project’s scope, cost and schedule are successfully met.  To provide project management and execution expertise for clients through the entire project life cycle.

Manage all aspects of construction activities and is responsible for project management at one or more job sites.  Plans, organizes, and controls resources for all anticipated and approved construction projects.  Provides leadership and direction to ensure construction projects are completed on schedule and meet cost and profit objectives.  Responsible for the day-to-day operation at construction sites and functions as the company representative to ensure customer satisfaction.

 

Lead contract negotiations with the General Contractor and sub-contractors.

Coordinate schedule needs with the Project Manager and ensure that construction activities meet material delivery dates.  Lead constructability review meetings to determine the most cost-effective construction methods (e.g., shop assembly vs. field labor).  Work with the Customer and the General Contractor’s Project Manager to resolve open issues and recover or avoid any additional costs that might be incurred due to changes.

Manage and provide directions to the Site Construction Supervisor and other Field Service staff.

Manage construction finances (review and approve Contractor invoices and initiate Customer invoice process).

Remote.  Hybrid. or based at any of the 3 offices.  Projects are throughout the US. 

 

Qualifications:

 

BS degree in construction science, building science, construction engineering or a related field.

5+ years of progressively responsible job site experience working on industrial building projects.

Design-build experience.

Overseeing sub-contractors and driving the project schedule.

Understanding of all phases of construction and an ability to read and interpret construction documents, schedules, and budgets.

Understanding of food processing design, flow, and processing equipment preferred.

Basic utility requirements and food safety design and procedures preferred.

Client interaction experience – strong technical, organizational, managerial, and communication skills.

Experience with Revit, AutoCad, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Powerpoint, and Microsoft Publisher is a plus.

 

Salary Range: $125 – 150K, Bonus Range based on Project Profitability $10-180K, 50% of health and dental paid by company, Life / Disability, Company match first 3% of salary dollars of 401K, Home Office, $500 Monthly Car Allowance, gas card, travel expense and vacation.

 

(Final compensation is determined on experience, knowledge, abilities, etc.).
