CNC/Swiss Machinist

Setup and operation of Swiss CNC machines. Include proper methodology, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds in order to generate quality parts in accordance with product specifications.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Interprets drawings and/ or solid part models to edit programs for the Swiss CNC / CNC machines that include proper methodology, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds in order to generate quality parts in accordance to product specifications.
Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements to maximize efficiency
Creates set-up sheets based on tooling selection criteria
Monitors and verifies the accuracy of each job’s initial set-up and final outcome
Revises programs and documents based on engineering changes
Responsible for process improvements and machine time reductions including tool and new product program testing
Communicates with the department manager regarding upcoming and existing jobs on the floor
Provides shop floor assistance with inspection methods, training on machines, machine alarms, and program issues
