ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – COMMERCIAL LITIGATION

Location: Hermosa Beach, CA

 

Our client, a prestigious law firm recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Law Firms®, is seeking a highly-motivated Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Hermosa Beach. This role provides an exciting opportunity to handle high-stakes business and commercial litigation matters, including professional liability, securities litigation/arbitration, and directors & officers defense.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

  • Active Bar Admission in California.

  • 1–4 years of substantive experience in litigation, including business/commercial litigation, professional liability, securities litigation/arbitration, and/or directors & officers defense.

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.

  • Ability to take and defend depositions.

  • Familiarity with both state and federal courts preferred.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.

  • Willingness to travel locally for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections, and depositions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution.

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.

  • Take and defend depositions, handle discovery requests, and assist in trial preparation.

  • Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitrations and mediations.

  • Work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation management.
