Our client is looking for a responsible Application Engineer. this is a Direct Placement position with our key Manufacturing client. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelors degree and 2+ years of experience.
Applications engineering is responsible for the programming and coding of precision horizontal CNC grinding
machines from concept to troubleshooting after assembly and installation.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Understand and utilize advanced industrial grind parameters.
• Write CNC programming code and scripts.
• Develop CNC front ends and data collection systems.
• Create and utilize parametric/macro-based M&G code programming.
• Develop and debug grind processes.
• Develop specifications and performance requirements for grinding machines.
• Use programming knowledge and experience to adapt grinding machines to specific job applications.
• Optimizing applications by integrating new technologies and performing upgrades.
• Performing diagnostic tests and debugging procedures, as well as improving code and re-designing tasks.
• Train customers on grinding processes and programming methods.
• Travel when necessary for machine installation and training.
Knowledge & Necessary Skills Required:
• Exceptional technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and reasoning ability.
• Understands engineering concepts and programming including electronics, mechanics, hydraulics,
pneumatics, and computer programming.
• Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects or tasks.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with 3D CAD/CAM, Siemens NX, and UG is a plus.
Requirements
- 2+ years practical experience in applications engineering, preferred.
- Experience with M&G code, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
