Growing healthcare company in Phoenix is looking to add an Accounting Manager to their staff. This position is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation. Directly participates and oversees recording complex journal entry transactions, analyzing variances against budget, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and external audit requests. Perform complex, detailed, and disciplined work using standard methodologies in analysis, documentation, implementation and support of accounting and finance procedures.
- Manage and review monthly financial results compared to budget and provide variance analytics.
- Prepares complex journal entries with supporting documentation as assigned.
- Lead partner with internal departments to present monthly financial results with monthly commentary.
- Conducts and oversees all necessary analysis and research to facilitate month-end close.
- Coordinate with Revenue Cycle Department to ensure monthly revenue is accounted for correctly and maintain A/R reconciliations.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet reconciliations in line with best practice and internal controls.
- Review and approve direct report balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
- Administer and oversee all lease accounting transactions and reporting.
- Key contributor to facilitate the completion of annual financial statement audits.
- Prepares board presentation material other ad-hoc reports as needed by Management.
- Maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity and accuracy of all financial systems, processes, and data.
- Manage all aspects of the accounts payable process.
- Develops, establishes, and maintains a work priority system to ensure daily and heavy workloads are fulfilled.
- Initiate internal reviews of accounting systems to optimize processes and efficiencies.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all employee and financial information.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Background Required:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- 2 years of managerial experience
- Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA
- Prior healthcare experience
- NetSuite experience
