This position is remote, meaning you can work from home most days following an initial period of training.
This will be a base + bonus structure. The base will be in the $80K to low 6 figures range. After 6 months to a year of service you would also be eligible for a 40% bonus potential.
Reporting to the Division President of a $40MM custom manufacturer of industrial power control and conversion systems, the Account Manager will be responsible for managing custom systems for established customers from proposal through startup. This requires maintaining and strengthening customer relationships and being the point of contact during each project, sales forecasting, leading internal kickoff meetings for the project, monitoring production schedules, and all the associated duties related to the open projects. You will also work to secure additional projects from the customers. This position will require domestic and international travel to sustain customer relationships. Maintain and strengthen relationships with established customers and engineering companies for assigned industry segment
Coordinate with the SR VP of Business Development, Industry Managers and other top Management to establish the Products and Applications needed to win additional business in assigned industry segments
Develop Application knowledge within the assigned industry segment
Forecast short and long term Sales by customer
Deliver and present proposed Systems solutions to established customers
Negotiate to convert proposals into Purchase Orders and/or Change Orders
Enter won projects into IFS and lead an internal kickoff meeting to present the project to the assigned Systems Engineering team
Lead a Customer Kickoff meeting and/or Design Review meetings if required
Act as primary point of contact for the customer throughout the execution of the project
Interface with manufacturing teams in US and Xiamen, monitor schedules, check on project status, host customer visits, keep manufacturing updated on shipping details and contacts
Participate in design reviews for first of a kind projects
Assist customers, System Engineers and Service team with trouble shooting field issues
Identify Service requirements to the Field Service Manager
Follow up on completed projects to generate repeat business
Domestic travel is required a few days a month (15-20%). Could be higher (up to 40%) if International travel opens back up.
Education and Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Engineering or related technical disciplines are preferred, but other degrees will also be considered with the right experience.
5-10 years in sales of Industrial Systems.
Experience with direct customer interaction.
