We are searching for several account directors for a highly respected a biotech communications agency.  This agency is optimally designed to support the needs of pre-commercial and commercial biotech and pharmaceutical companies active in drug development. We are looking for candidates with strong backgrounds in corporate communications, brand management, consumer launch.

The exceptional candidate will have deep media experience, a strong agency background, expertise in digital campaigns, and excellent science writing skills.

 

 Requirements for Account Director – Pharmaceuticals

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of account management experience in an agency or in-house communications leadership role with applicable marketing experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals or health care
  • Product launch and issues management experience
  • Experience with strategic counsel, ad-hoc research, planning, meetings, account and project management, material review facilitation, weekly status calls, financial management
  • Proven ability to immerse oneself in our industry and the world-changing work of our clients
  • Passion for building value for clients in the biotech and pharmaceutical spaces through highly strategic communications approaches
  • Experience formulating successful strategies for and utilizing digital communications channels, such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Google AdWords
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • A track record of accomplishment in managing communications strategy for drug products, pre-launch through post-launch.  
  • Ability to work independently with little direction while taking initiative to solve problems
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing and editing abilities and demonstrated aptitude in adapting writing style to fit a given audience or application (media, web, internal, etc.);
  • An understanding of biotech and pharmaceutical industry media and publications. 
  • An understanding of the current news cycle, and experience with media outreach
  • Ability to deliver strong client service with a sense of urgency
  • Strong project management skills
  • An understanding of drug development process
  • A track record of “thinking outside the box.”
 
The Account Director will:
 
 
  • Support key clients engaged in launching new pharmaceutical drug products
  • Develop and implement digital and social media strategies for corporate, clinical trial recruitment and patient advocacy initiatives
  • Partner with our creative team on highly collaborative work across multiple platforms, including management of external vendors
  • Guide communication strategy for clients including pre and post launch activities
  • Foster highly collaborative long-term client relationships
  • Develop content for wide range of client projects, including messaging and positioning platforms, press releases, pitch materials, website copy and investor materials
  • Identify and secure opportunities to grow existing client accounts
  • Cultivate ongoing media relationships, pitching stories and delivering measurable benefits for clients
  • Contribute collaboratively to creative projects, from website design to environmental branding, including partnering with internal colleagues and managing outside vendors
